Hundreds of schools across the country celebrate reading by participating in National Young Readers Week each year.
Set aside as a special day to recognize the joys and benefits of reading. Schools will be recruiting local “celebrities” to read aloud a favorite children’s book to their classrooms. Local reading role model “celebrities” will include local officials, sports figures, public safety officers, parents, and other guests from the public and private sector. Hodges Bend Middle School is looking for great readers like you, please email delia.johnson@fortbendisd.com or Bridgette.evans@fortbendisd.com to become a part of this phenomenal day.

National Young Readers Week will be celebrated November 12, 2009 from 8:00-2pm.
 

FBISD is providing all secondary students with a school email account which meets the Federal standards for the Children's Online privacy Protection Act. Students received an introduction to Gaggle the week of October 26-October 30, 2009, during advisory. Attached is the letter in both English and Spanish that the students were asked to bring home which explains the program.
