The HBMS library is open every school day from 8:15 am to 4:15 pm. Students visit the library on a regular schedule with their ELA class. Students are also welcome during our extended open library times before school, Monday-Friday with a Library Pass from their ELA teacher.
 
Our media center contains 18,000+ books and audio visual items. Several computers are available for student research and Horizon on-line card catalog provides FBISD and HBMS book and audiovisual details. A copier is available for .10 cents per copy.
 
Library books circulate on a two week basis and students are charged a five cent fine for each school day that a book remains overdue. All ELA teachers are given a list of their students with fines and/or overdue books. Students have limited library privileges until their library record is cleared.
