Volunteers make good things happen. When you become involved in education you send your child, the students and teachers, a message that you care. Your help is needed at Hodges Bend. It is very important to have parent involvement in your child's education. Volunteering at school will not only help your student but will also give you an insight into our Middle School environment. Please consider giving of your time in some manner. We need your support and involvement. Parents can be involved in many ways. If you are able to donate at least one hour or more per six weeks please call Heather and volunteer. Also, Volunteer Handbooks are available on campus with a Volunteer Information Sheet on the last page. Volunteer areas are listed below. FUND RAISER: Help with one major fund-raiser at the beginning of the school year. NACHOS AT NOON: Sell nachos at lunch once every six weeks. (on a Friday) HOSPITALITY: Prepare food for events such as Parent Meetings, Teacher Appreciation Breakfasts. HANDS-ON SCIENCE: Assist with the AMOCO science projects (6th grade only) EIGHTH GRADE CELEBRATION: Help plan the eighth grade celebration in May. TEAM PARENTS: Assist our team teachers. TEACHER COPY CENTER: Assist teachers by making copies in the evening. PUBLIC RELATIONS: Produce and mail out the VIPS / school calendar, communicates parent meetings, etc. SPECIAL PROJECTS (As needed) such as, assisting with chaperoning dances, making phone calls, scanning textbooks, etc. MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Parent Organization Team is to support the Hodges Bend Middle School administrators, teachers and students in reaching the goal of a positive school environment where all students can learn.
