Our History

Our middle school was named Fort Settlement based on the following historical facts: To preserve the assigned perimeters in Stephen F. Austin's first grant, 58 of the original 300 colonists, soon to become known as "The Old 300," located their holdings in present-day Fort Bend County, then know as Fort Settlement. In 1836, Santa Anna marched his troops through Fort Settlement on his way to San Jacinto.

Our history reflects upon the courage and determination in the challenges that our forefathers faced in seeking better lives. May they represent examples of encouragement and perseverance to all students who enter these doors today and in the years to come.

Fort Settlement Middle School was founded August, 2001. Our colors are crimson, silver and black. Our mascot is the Falcon and we service grades 6, 7 and 8.
