History

Elkins High School opened in the Fall of 1992. From the beginning it has been a "Castle of Champions". Notable accomplishments include two UIL State Academic Championships, three Baseball state championships, one Softball state championship, and numerous district championships in academics, athletics, and fine arts. In the 1999-2000 school year Elkins became a Texas Recognized School and in 2000-2001 became a Texas Exemplary School. Elkins High School was named a 2001-2002 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
