Hello Commonwealth students and parents! I am so excited to be a part of the Commonwealth Elementary School as your new Assistant Principal. I have heard many wonderful things about this school and they are all true. The staff if fabulous, the parents are supportive and the students are respectful and excited about learning. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with each and every one of you in a positive, respectful manner. I attended the University of Houston where I received my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a math specialization. After a few years, I decided I wanted to get my masters and went back to the University of Houston to get my masters in Principalship. I have been a classroom teacher for the past 10 years. I taught third grade at Barrington Place for 7 years. During this time I taught ESL, GT and special education students. I then moved to Oyster Creek where I taught 5th grade math and science for the past 3 years. I have been married to my husband Gary for the past 26 years. We have 3 beautiful children. My daughters attend college at Texas State and Stephen F. Austin. My son is a sophomore at Kempner High School. We, at Commonwealth will continue to do our part in making your child’s year a safe, happy and successful one. I am looking forward to lots of growing and learning on the student’s parts as well as mine. I would like to assure you that every child that walks through the doors at Commonwealth will learn to be more productive students, learn to respect themselves and others and continue to grow academically. I am here to assist you and your child in any way possible and looking forward to seeing the students become more productive citizens.
