The role of the Reading Specialist in Fort Bend ISD is to promote literacy opportunities for students, teachers, and parents in a way that emphasizes appropriate instruction which targets students who have difficulty reading, writing and spelling. Attention is especially focused on 504 Dyslexic students and struggling readers. Our goal is that ALL students will be life-long successful readers.
 
I graduated from Texas A & M University. This is my 30th year in education. I have previously taught Kindergarten, Second Grade and Fifth Grade before becoming the Reading Specialist here at Commonwealth Elementary. I have been married for over 30 years and have 2 sons in their 20's. I also own two Great Danes. I love to read, shop and make pottery in my spare time. I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
