Introductory Technology I Grade 7, 8
In the first course for seventh and eighth grade boys and girls, students study technology through self-contained computer modules, cooperative activities and traditional instruction. This hands-on student guided learning includes thirteen module workstations, Flight, CAD Drafting, Audio Broadcasting, Digital Video, Engineering Bridges, Physics, Electricity, Digital Manufacturing, Computer Graphics & Animation,
Creative Solutions, Energy Power & Mechanics, Packaging and Robotics.
In addition to the various software titles used in the computer modules, students are instructed in Microsoft Works. Several assignments are given in basic computer application software, such as, Word processing, Database, Spreadsheet, and Microsoft Paint. We also use the 3D-Home Architect program for residential construction. Other units of instruction include: Production in woodworking, Shop and Power Machine Safety, Bridge Construction and Stress Test.
Drafting units include: Basic measurement, using scales, Pictorial drawings, One-view drawings, three-view drawings, non-isometric pictorial drawings, wood production working drawings, freehand sketching and instructional cartoon enlarging using proportional squares method. The use of CAD programs are used to design floor plans for the 3D Design Module.

Introductory Technology II Grade 8 (Prerequisite: Introductory Technology I)
In this course, second year students continue their study of technology as they gain knowledge and skills of processes and techniques. They investigate, apply, design, produce and access innovative projects.
Tech II students will focus on computer based projects using construction CAD software. Projects range from rocket cars, hydro rocketry, two engine Co2 dragsters, commercial construction, engineering towers & cranes, maze drops, transportation, space and bio related technology. Students will pursue and further develop their abilities using computer applications with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point & Web Design.
