Welcome to Third Grade

Welcome to third grade! This year will provide a tremendous amount of change and growth for your student. English and Language Arts provide a tailored program to meet the students where they are and move them forward. We incorporate guided reading groups and the writing of narrative stories.
In Social Studies we will learn the inner workings of local governments and what it means to be good citizens. Student will also become familiar with their physical environments as we study geography.
In the Math area we will cover the concepts of place value, telling time, estimation, graphing, story problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and problem solving.
In science we have several hands-on experiences, that include growing plants, space exploration, and chemistry. The children will work together and have a great learning experience this year!
