Blue Ridge Elementary opened its doors in the fall of 1969 when Mr. Mercer was the Superintendent of Schools. Mr. LaRay Ledger was the first principal. It was the first open concept school in Fort Bend Independent School District. After Many years as an open concept school, walls and doors were added to make self-contained classrooms. A gym and an extended day unit were built onto the school along with a wing that houses nine classrooms.

The faculty and staff at Blue Ridge Elementary will meet the educational and social needs of each student by providing a challenging, positive, and safe environment where each student can learn. In so doing, we are preparing our students to be responsible citizens, leading productive lives.
