The Fort Bend ISD Extended Day is a program that offers both before and after school child care for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program is in operation at all of the district’s elementary schools and operates from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is in operation on all school days, most staff development days, and from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. during spring break. Children are provided a snack, assisted with homework, and offered developmentally appropriate activities with a thematic approach as part of the program. Character development is encouraged through community service projects. The mission of the program is to provide a safe, secure, and happy environment that communicates clearly with parents. During the summer, the program operates from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from the last day of school until the end of July. Nayyar Ali is the Extended Day Site Coordinator at Blue Ridge Elementary.
