Congratulations to Mrs. Poonam Ernest for being named as one of the finalists for FBISD Secondary Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Ernest teaches our autistic students and is in her second year at BMS. She will be recognized at the district’s annual Teacher of the Year Awards Banquet in April. This marks the second time in our short four year history that a BMS teacher has been a district finalist for this award! Mr. Fickel earned this distinction in the 2007-08 school year. We wish Mrs. Ernest the best of luck as she competes at the next level of the Teacher of the Year selection process

One of the district's greatest strengths lies in its cultural diversity. Students in FBISD schools represent countries from around the world, and Billy Baines Middle School mirrors that same diversity. It is for this reason that such richness in cultures should be explored, experienced, and celebrated.
