Welcome to Spanish for Native Speakers

Students who are native speakers of Spanish may receive credit for Spanish I and II upon successful completion of this course in one year. This course integrates the five Program Goals of Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. It incorporates the study of Hispanic language and culture and assists students in the understanding and appreciation of Hispanic culture. Students' total language experience will be enriched by building on the language proficiency they already possess. Their skills for both formal and informal situations and literacy will be developed as they are introduced to appropriate usage of grammar and vocabulary. They will discover cultural knowledge through short stories and poetry and focus on reading and writing skills.
