Welcome to Second Grade

Welcome to Second Grade! Students have the opportunity to expand and refine many of the skills they gained in their first grade experiences and move toward more independent learning activities.
In reading, students use their reading skills to solve problems, read for meaning and enjoyment.
In math, students use knowledge of math facts and processes to solve problems in school and in their every day experiences.
In science, students study weather, organisms, and other topics utilizing Fort Bend's hands-on science kits and other valuable resources.
In social studies, students learn about their communities and the important role they play within the community.
An important emphasis in all classes is placed on promoting student's self esteem and building strong character in students through the school's character education program. We are so glad you are here, and are looking forward to a great school year!
