Welcome to Reading Recovery

Reading Recovery is a short-term intervention for children at risk of failing to learn to read and write in first grade. Children meet daily in a one-on-one session with a specially trained teacher for and average of 12-20 weeks. The goal of the program is for children to develop effective reading and writing strategies in order to work within an average group setting in the regular classroom.
