My name is Mary Prine and I am the counselor at Austin Parkway Elementary School. My goal is to work with the students, parents, faculty, and community to implement a developmental guidance and counseling program in order to help students develop their full educational potential. Realistically speaking, I also spend a great deal of time coordinating TAKS, ITBS, and GT testing.
I graduated in 1976 from Texas Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education. I taught middle school special education classes while earning a master’s degree in special education. I received a master’s degree in counseling in 1991. I completed my Educational Diagnostician certification at U of H Victoria in December, 2006.
I have been a counselor since 1990. I've been the counselor at Austin Parkway Elementary since 1996. My husband, Bruce, is a geologist at Conoco-Phillips. We have three sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law, two miniature dachshunds and two "granddogs".
