Ridgemont Elementary History

Ridgemont Elementary was opened in August, 1973 in the Ridgemont subdivision. The building was originally designed as an open concept facility. Since then walls, doors, telephones and carpet have been installed in all of the classrooms and an addition consisting of five classrooms has been added.

Mission Statement

At Ridgemont Elementary School, we believe and emphasize that every student is unique and capable of learning. Our mission is to meet each child's needs through maximum instruction in order to develop his/her highest academic potential to become productive and responsible citizen. To accomplish this mission, the faculty and staff work collaboratively with students, parents, and the community to create a successful and stimulating learning environment.

Recognized Campus
|
|
Ridgemont Elementary was named a Recognized campus for these academic years: 1997, 2000, 2001, and 2002 by the Texas Education Agency. To become a Recognized campus, you must have at least 80 percent of all students and each student group passing each section, Reading, Math, and Writing.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration

To be eligible for the prekindergarten program, children must be four years old by September 1. They can qualify for the program by meeting one of the following criteria: educationally disadvantaged, homeless, or unable to speak or comprehend the English language. Parents of children who wish to qualify for educationally disadvantaged will be required to complete an income verification form. Children who may qualify based on limited English-proficiency must take a language assessment. To enroll a child, parents must show a copy of the child's birth certificate (or other proof of identity), immunization records, and proof of residence (a deed or lease document and a utility statement) within FBISD.
