Ridgemont Elementary History
|
|
Ridgemont Elementary was opened in August, 1973 in the Ridgemont subdivision. The building was originally designed as an open concept facility. Since then walls, doors, telephones and carpet have been installed in all of the classrooms and an addition consisting of five classrooms has been added. In January 2010, the doors of The Ridgemont Early Childhood Center opens. It is a multi-service learning center where children and families can grow together as a community of learners.

At Ridgemont Elementary School, we believe and emphasize that every student is unique and capable of learning. Our mission is to meet each child's needs through maximum instruction in order to develop his/her highest academic potential to become productive and responsible citizen. To accomplish this mission, the faculty and staff work collaboratively with students, parents, and the community to create a successful and stimulating learning environment.

Recognized Campus
|
|
Ridgemont Elementary was named a Recognized campus for these academic years: 1997, 2000, 2001, and 2002 by the Texas Education Agency. To become a Recognized campus, you must have at least 80 percent of all students and each student group passing each section, Reading, Math, and Writing.
