KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Dates for registration are as follows: April 14 - 8:00 am—3:00 pm April 15 - 8:00 am—3:00 pm April 15 - 6:30 pm—8:00 pm Student’s date of birth must be on or before September 1, 2009, to be eligible to start kindergarten in 2009. If a language other than English is spoken in your home, please bring your child with you to registration for language testing/placement. Items Required for Registration: Child’s Birth Certificate (Certified Copy) Child’s Social Security Card (not just the number). Current Immunization Records Lease or Deed to your home Current Utility Bill (Gas, Water or Electric) No Phone Bill. Parent’s drivers license showing current address. Last report card that shows placement for the current school year. Withdrawal form, if student is enrolling after the school year begins. When you register your child you will need to sign up for a testing date. Please be sure to share this information with your neighbors who may have kindergarten age children. ME CAMPUS IMPROVEMENT PLAN GOALS FOR 2009-2010
|

DSP Goal 1: FBISD will implement strategies that result in students meeting high standards of achievement. ME students will achieve 90% or higher in grades 3-5 in Math. ME students will achieve 93% or higher in grades 3-5 in Science. DSP Goal 7: FBISD will foster character development of students and create a safe and healthy environment for all students. Meadows Elementary will foster character development to create a safe and healthy environment.

NEW PROCESS FOR VOLUNTEERS
|
|
A new policy in the district requires volunteers to put in a new Criminal History Background check every year. The forms are now all on-line. Please follow the following process: Go to www.fortbend.k12.tx.us and click on Be a Volunteer on the left hand side, Click Criminal History Check on right hand side. It says Click here (do so). Click here under new user. Fill out the form and hit Submit at the bottom of the page. If you have any questions about the process, please contact Community Relations at "281-634-1000".

CELL PHONES PROHIBITED IN SCHOOL ZONES
|
|
House Bill 55, set to take effect on Sept. 1, prohibits drivers from using a wireless communication device while operating a vehicle within a school crossing zone. The law, an amendment of Texas Transportation Code, section 545.425, assesses a fine of up to $200 per violation.
