 Dear Parent (s) or Guardian: I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you as the new principal of Edgar Glover, Jr. Elementary School. I am honored to be working in this community that strives for excellence in education and commitment to the children. You will feel and experience a sense of newness and excitement as you walk through the halls of our school. I want you to feel welcome as you become involved with your child’s experiences at Glover Elementary. Our families play a vital role in the education of our children and offer incredible support in and out of the classroom. I invite you to participate in our PTO to further extend the opportunities we can provide. I believe that collaborative decision making and strong staff and parental involvement will make our school a dynamic place to learn and work. Throughout the year, your child’s teacher and I will be making a special effort to stay in contact with you. We will keep you informed of your child’s progress and school activities. Please be sure to be on the lookout for information coming from school to home such as homework, newsletters, invitations, updates, tips, and reminders. We will continue to send home weekly information in our Glover Tuesday Folder. I hope you will take part in your child’s education by inquiring about their time spent at school. Ask about their friends and teachers. Get involved as they complete their homework or seek your help on special projects. Encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes every night. Work with your child on spelling words and basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. I am confident that your child will demonstrate greater motivation as you continue to show interest in their academic and social experience.
