Our Mission
School Social Workers will mobilize available resources, develop new ones, and foster positive relationships among families, schools and communities in order to enhance each child's opportunity to meet his or her life potential.
Grandparent Support Group
An increasing number of grandparents and other adults provide relative placements for children of family members. Doing so often presents circumstances that require specialized parenting skills and intervention.
To assist families that are in this situation, Fort Bend ISD's Student Support Services Department social workers will host a monthly support group designed especially for grandparents and other adults who are raising children of their family members.
The support group will give participants the opportunity to share their concerns and obtain information and resources to help with their parenting issues.
Meetings will be held the last Thursday of each month, beginning January 27 through April 28, from 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm at Glover Elementary School (1510 Columbia Blue Drive in Missouri City).
Families and their children who live within the FBISD community and outlying areas of Fort Bend County are invited to attend. All services are free to participants. Snacks will be provided.
To RSVP or obtain more information about the support group, contact Connie Lee-Sims at 281-795-3528 or Linda Coleman at 281-795-2346.
