Community invited to provide input about FBISD’s proposed Global Center for Science and Technology

February 27, 2009

Community members are invited to attend a meeting on Thursday, March 12, 7:00 pm, in the Board Room of the FBISD Administration Building, 16431 Lexington Blvd., in Sugar Land, to learn more about a newly proposed FBISD facility, the Global Center for Science and Technology. The purpose of the Global Center would be to offer world-class opportunities for quality teacher training and student learning.

The March 12 meeting is being sponsored by a newly formed Global Center Feasibility Committee comprised of community leaders whose purpose is to determine the level of community support for such an endeavor. The committee will be conducting several meetings with various stakeholder groups to listen to their thoughts and ideas about this unique facility. A brief presentation about the Center will be made, and then time will be provided for input.

After the Feasibility Committee completes its study over the next couple of months, a final “Recommendations Report” regarding the proposed Global Center will be presented to the FBISD School Board. The Global Center Feasibility Committee membership includes: David Wallace, Chairperson; Sonal Bhuchar, Rajesh Chandra, Jill Curtis, Louis Garvin, Charles Jessup, Paul Likhari, Gary Moseley, Michael Schiff, Steve Smelley and Llarance Turner.
